the love kills theory is based on an amalgam of the works of Guy Debord, founder of Situationist International, Aldous Huxley, and others, fused with the current bio-genetic studies on the evolution of despair.
In the spirit of Dylan Thomas, the love kills theory was formed as a desperate, and most likely futile, struggle against the demise of art in popular culture. The regression that has taken place in all mediums could not have come about without a complicit and intellectually lazy audience who require less and less in terms of content, but grow ever more impatient with their demands for immediate gratification. Combine this with the fact that the desire for exposure among most performers has preceded any sense of need for content or substantive message and you have all the ingredients necessary to produce a cultural wasteland.
As their name implies, the love kills theory is not so much a band as it is a manifesto. Society has reached a point in its development where the pursuit of the things we love – indulgence in all of its forms – is killing us by making us all soulless consumers. If art can’t be resurrected, at least the reasons for its death will be documented in their songs.
The petty details of the history of the band and its members and assorted accolades are irrelevant filler.

Blackie Fotografiert seit ende der Neunziger Jahre und man sieht seinen Bildern einfach an, daß es keine ’schnellen Digitalschüsse’ sind.
Durch den bewussten Einsatz von Licht und Schatten wird nicht nur einen Ästhetik des Bildes geschaffen, die Geschichte, die jedes Bild in dem Kopf des Betrachters auslöst, wird unterstützt durch diese Tiefe, diesen Kontrast, der nicht nur Hell-Dunkel Kontrast ist, sondern der sich auch in dem Arrangement der Bilder wiederfindet.

Da trifft Angst auf Begierde, die Weichheit des Körpers auf die Härte einer Maske, Schönheit auf Schmähung.

In den Bildern von Blackie kann man sich Stundenlang verlieren, in Ihnen umherwandern und auf Entdeckungsreise gehen, um, wenn man wieder zurück kommt, ein wenig verstört und erleichtert feststellen, das diese Phantasie, diese Erotik, die hier Brutal-Schön dagestellt wird, niemals Ihren Reiz verliert und alles andere als Böse ist.

Diese Erotik ist einfach nur schön, unvergänglich und unerschöpflich.

Einer, der das ganze schon seit Jahren betreibt und die Szene immer wieder mit Output versorgt, ist Jeff Gord.

Es fasziniert mich, mit welchem enthusiasmus er daran geht, seine Phantasien in die Realität zu holen, und wie er es schafft, aus Menschen Objekte zu machen, ohne das ganze billig oder pornografisch wirken zu lassen, im Gegenteil, ich finde, das hat was künstlerisches, es ist eine Metamorphose vom benutzen zum nutzbar machen, es ist in meinem Augen auch ein vollkommen andere Ansatz als das ‘benutzen’ im SM-Kontext. Hier werden die ‘Objekte’ nicht einfach nur benutzt, hier wird etwas geschaffen, was einen ästhetischen und einen nützlichen Charakter hat.

Wie Jeff Gord selbst sagt: “It’s not really necessary to think of sex, just look at the forms”

Aber freut euch nicht zu früh… die Gefahr ist gar nicht so weit… Sie ist nicht mal eine fremde Religion oder Weltanschauung… nein… sie ist uns verdammt bekannt… genauso wie die Bilder… nur sind es diesmal die lieben, netten Christen von jenseites des großen Teichs…

Und wer sich jetzt fragt, was hat das hier in einem Blog eines SMers verloren.., Naja, immerhin brennen wir garantiert in der Hölle, wenn es nach denen geht.. und die würden uns bestimmt auch gerne schnell dahin bringen… wehret den Anfängen, sag ich
